Natural Turnings
I make "Natural Turnings" on a lathe using wood from fallen trees that would otherwise rot in the forest or be cut into firewood. The challenge is to expose the natural beauty inside each log by turning it on a lathe in the way that shows it best.
It's often hard to know the final form of the piece until it reveals its inner secrets as the outside is turned away. The wood itself leads the way by what it reveals - hence, "Natural Turnings".
Explore wood's inner beauty here with me. Thanks for visiting.
